Get Ready for the USSA

Get Ready for the USSA (The United Soviet States of America) by Al Martin, You will be happy to learn that the former head of the KGB (the secret police of the former Soviet Union), General Yevgeni Primakov, has been hired as a consultant by the US Department of Homeland Security. Do you think he will share his expertise in "security" to prepare US citizens for domestic internal passports under the pretense of fighting the never-ending "War on Terrorism"? http://www.almartinraw.com/; article archived at: http://impeach-bush-now.org/Articles/Americans/USSA.htm.

Iraqi Oil --> Israel

March 31, 2003, Infrastructure Minister Paritzky dreams of Iraqi oil flowing to Haifa, By Akiva Eldar, Ha'aretz -

Excerpts: National Infrastructures Minister Joseph Paritzky has requested an assessment of the condition of the old oil pipeline from Mosul to Haifa, with an eye toward renewing the flow of oil in the event of friendly post-war regime in Iraq. Paritzky explained to Haaretz yesterday that resurrecting the pipeline to Haifa could save Israel the high cost of shipping oil from Russia. He is certain that the Americans would respond favorably to the idea, since the pipeline would bring Iraqi oil directly to the Mediterranean ...

The prime minister at the time, Yitzhak Shamir, proposed to Iraq to renew the flow of oil through the pipeline to Haifa. Hanan Bar-On, then the deputy director-general of the Foreign Ministry, confirmed yesterday that Israel was involved in talks during the mid-1980s on a plan for an Iraq-Jordanian pipeline to the Red Sea port of Aqaba. Among the participants in these talks was Donald Rumsfeld, then an adviser to U.S. president Reagan and currently secretary of defense. The American corporation Bechtel was slated to build the pipeline. According to the deal, which eventually fell through, Israel was to receive about $100 million a year via former Israeli businessman Bruce Rappaport in return for a commitment not to oppose the construction or operation of the new pipeline. In 1987, energy minister Moshe Shahal reportedly looked into the idea of helping Iraq export its oil via the Golan Heights to Haifa. But this plan also failed to materialize. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=278572

This afternoon watched on Fox News Secretary of State, Colin Powell. Using very blunt language, he demanded of Iran to stop its pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and the ability to produce them, and that Syria cease supporting terrorism (means supplying Iraq with weapons). Powell said "Syria faces a critical choice, whether to continue its direct support for terrorism in the dying days" of the Iraqi government. "Syria bears a responsibility for its choices and consequences", Powel said. After having seen today's press conference of Iraq Ministry of Information, the confidence which it was conducted by their Minister himself, after having red rumors about possible mobilization in Russia, and having seen introduction of State of Emergency in Italy last Friday, I am starting to feel bit uneasy. Italians usually duck for cover first (this is to their credit, they are no fools). The rest of us (heroes and fools) get it only afterwards.

Cutting Edge Ministries

RUMOR: RUSSIA MAY BE MOBILIZING HER TROOPS! An American subscriber who lives and works in Russia called me Friday, 3/28, to tell me that the signs of a large-scale military mobilization were very evident on the streets. Russian soldiers by the many hundreds were suddenly out in uniform and seemingly heading for bus and rail lines. He said it looked as though a mobilization was under way. I put out some feelers to other Cutting Edge subscribers to scourge the Internet to see if they could pick up any corroborating evidence. One subscriber emailed me the contents of a Discussion Board posting. Listen: "I was listening to the steve quayle (sic) show he said that he had a call and that there is word that russian (sic) troops are getting ready to go to the middle east to protect their oil interests." Earlier in the week, we posted an article from IRNA which stated that Russia was sending large "humanitarian supplies" to the Iran/Iraq border, even though Iran was independently stating they had seen no Iraqi refugees heading their way! At the time, it seemed that Russia might be using this story as a cover for sending military supplies. Since Russia has a Mutual Defense Treaty with Iran, she would be forced to react to American pressure upon Iran. If Russian troops are heading for the Middle East, that means about 40 different countries are now placing troops in the Middle East, thus making the fulfillment of Joel 3 that much more likely.

The Zionists Went Too Far - Israel Shamir

Israel Shamir, EXCERPT: "The Zionists went too far. They could have had a decent share in the sweet land of Palestine, willing Palestinian workers and friends, an endless supply of cheap oil and resources from the hinterland to the Haifa refineries, a very good life for themselves and their children. But they wanted to have all, and to leave nothing to the vanquished. That is why their days are numbered." "Iraq is a battle, not a war. After Baghdad, Tehran, Damascus, Riyadh"[1]. And afterwards, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing. Today they wish to remove Saddam Hussein; tomorrow they will demand the head of Chirac, Schroeder and Putin..."

British troops sad and angry at fifth friendly fire death

British troops reacted with sadness, anger and dismay yesterday after another death caused by "friendly fire" – this time a member of the Household Cavalry was killed when the unit's Scimitar armoured vehicles came under attack. Initial reports indicated that the Household Cavalry was in the middle of a battle with Iraqis north of the Rumaila oilfields, near Basra, on Friday afternoon when an American A-10 Thunderbolt warplane struck one – possibly two – light armoured vehicles, killing one crew member and injuring four...

All Along the Watchtower

By William Rivers Pitt, t r u t h o u t | Opinion, 20 June, 2002, "Stanley Hilton, a San Francisco attorney and former aide to Senator Bob Dole, filed a $7 billion lawsuit in U.S. District Court on June 3rd. The class-action suit names ten defendants, among whom are George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld and Norman Mineta. Hilton's suit charges Bush and his administration with allowing the September 11th attacks to take place so as to reap political benefits from the catastrophe. Hilton alleges that Osama bin Laden is being used as a scapegoat by an administration that ignored pressing warnings of the attack and refused to round up suspected terrorists beforehand ... Hilton's plaintiffs in this case are the families of 14 victims of 9/11, numbering 400 people nationwide. These are the same families that rallied in Washington recently to advocate for an independent investigation into the attacks. The current 9/11 hearings are being conducted by Congress behind closed doors, a situation these families find unacceptable."

This program graphs the fractal time wave based on Terence McKenna's work. If you run this program, you'll notice that the time line hits rock bottom on July 6, 2003 at 04:45. The important extra note about this date is that THREE out of FOUR number systems (HuangTi, Sheliak, and Kelley) produce wave forms that meet on the same day of July 6, 2003. The attached picture shows how all the lines meet on the same day. I'd like to know what's going to happen on July 6, 2003 at 04:45? Can anyone see the future? It's not an accident that these three number systems are meeting on the same day. When that line hits rock bottom, THAT'S NOT A GOOD SIGN! Remember, when Sept. 11, 2001 happened, these lines hit rock bottom about 9-11-01 also (give or take a day or two).

RESPONSE: I don't know what, if anything, this has to do with this, but I just found out that George Walker Bush's birthday is July 6. Interesting. Time Traveler

RESPONSE: My impression is that on 4th of July the potential for a 9/11 type psy op is great. By then it will be evident that US / UK / Israeli leaderships' evil plans are failing, and they will probably resort to a new atrocity to keep the momentum going into 2004. NEWSPEAK: Empire Appreciation Month

Military Genius on Parade

There was fierce competition among Bush Administration officials to see who could most accurately predict the length of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Here are the nominees: 1. "Support for Saddam... will collapse after the first whiff of gunpowder," -- Pentagon advisor Richard Perle 2. "An explosion of joy will greet our soldiers." -- US Deputy Defense Secretary Paul
Wolfowitz. 3. "I believe demolishing Hussein's military power and liberating Iraq would be a cakewalk." -- Pentagon advisor Kenneth Adelman. 4. "I really do believe that we will be greeted as liberators I think the regular army will not fight." V-P Dick Cheney. We can't emphasize enough the dangers of abusing hallucinogenic drugs.

Communication Breakdown

As people "embedded" in American culture, it's difficult to comprehend how Iraqis could possibly resist their own liberation. The answer may lie in a few overlooked cultural differences. For example, when American soldiers tore down the Iraqi flag and hoisted the Stars and Stripes over the port of Umm Qasr, many Iraqis failed to appreciate that this was our way of saying, "We've come to liberate you." A similar misunderstanding may have occurred when the 101st Airborne Division named two of its main outposts in the desert "Forward Operating Base Exxon" and "Forward Operating Base Shell."
Fortunately, neither name implies we are there at the behest of our oil companies, says the Pentagon . (See the Guardian 3/28/03)

Who Let Bush off the Leash Dept.?

While scolding the UN, President Bush pointed to the example of the UN's inaction in the face of the genocide that claimed 800,000 lives in Rwanda in the 1990s. "The UN," he said, "must mean something. Remember Rwanda or Kosovo. The UN didn't do its job." Advisors reportedly had to draw straws to see who would tell the President that it was the U.S who had led the opposition to intervention and that Bush himself was on record as opposed to intervening where US "vital interests" were not at stake.

"All Power to the Imagination"

While our nation campaigned against weapons of mass destruction in the hands of others, the Pentagon asked for the lifting of the ban on our development of small nuclear weapons. These weapons may be needed because of the existence of small countries. (We don't want to take out adjacent nations when making those surgical strikes.) Linton Brooks, head of the
National Nuclear Security Administration, defended the move with these words of wisdom: "Anything that inhibits thinking about the future, should be looked at skeptically." And if you can't think outside the box, blow it up.

Benchmarks in Diversity

All the major networks have refused to air anti-war ads. Our award for the best explanation for banning such non-commercial views goes to CBS. Their spokesperson, vice-president Martin Franks put it succinctly: "On the CBS television network," he said, "we think that informed discussion comes from our news programming." Why confuse people with too many points of view?

Soundbites

The Bush Administration was pleased to announce that both Eritrea and the Solomon Islands had joined the "Coalition of the willing." The question on everybody's mind: "When will Liechtenstein join the cause?... A rumor had it that Iraqi army officers trained for possible surrenders by watching videotapes of U.S. Democratic party leaders. This was not true...The U.S.Air Force furthered the cause of freedom in Iraq by dropping leaflets on its citizens. It's also been suggested they drop copies of the USA Patriot Act. Give them a dose of reality.

Belgian premier denounces US as "very dangerous"

Brussels, March 30, Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt Sunday toughened his position against the war in Iraq. Speaking at a meeting of his liberal VKD party in the city of Antwerp, Verhofstadt denounced the US as "very dangerous." "America, a power deeply injured, and has become very dangerous, and it thinks to take over the whole Arab world," Belgian RTL TV quoted him as saying. He said the US regards the Arab world responsible for all terrorism. "This is a logic which I do not share," he said. An estimated 30,000 Muslims mainly from North African countries live in the port city of Antwerp. Verhofstadt added that everything must be undertaken to restore the international legal order.

COOK: BRING OUR LADS HOME

Let's send Rumsfeld and his hawks to war instead, By Robin Cook, This was meant to be a quick, easy war. Shortly before I resigned a Cabinet colleague told me not to worry about the political fall-out. The war would be finished long before polling day for the May local elections.I just hope those who expected a quick victory are proved right. I have already had my fill of this bloody and unnecessary war. I want our troops home and I want them home before more of them are killed. It is OK for Bush to say the war will go on for as long as it takes. He is sitting pretty in the comfort of Camp David protected by scores of security men to keep him safe. It is easy to show you are resolute when you are not one of the poor guys stuck in a sandstorm peering around for snipers. This week British forces have shown bravery under attack and determination in atrocious weather conditions. They are too disciplined to say it, but they must have asked each other how British forces ended up exposed by the mistakes of US politicians. We were told the Iraqi army would be so joyful to be attacked that it would not fight. A close colleague of US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld predicted the march to Baghdad would be "a cakewalk". We were told Saddam's troops would surrender. A few days before the war Vice-President Dick Cheney predicted that the Republican Guard would lay down their weapons. We were told that the local population would welcome their invaders as liberators. Paul Wolfowitz, No.2 at the Pentagon, promised that our tanks would be greeted "with an explosion of joy and relief". Personally I would like to volunteer Rumsfeld, Cheney and Wolfowitz to be "embedded" alongside the journalists with the forward units. That would give them a chance to hear what the troops fighting for every bridge over the Euphrates think about their promises. The top US General, William Wallace, has let the cat out of the bag. "The enemy we are fighting is different from the one we'd war-gamed". War is not some kind of harmless arcade game. Nobody should start a war on the assumption that the enemy's army will co-operate. But that is exactly what President Bush has done. And now his Marines have reached the outskirts of Baghdad he does not seem to know what to do next. It was not meant to be like this. By the time we got to Baghdad Saddam was supposed to have crumpled. A few days before I resigned I was assured that Saddam would be overthrown by his associates to save their own skins. But they would only do it "at five minutes past midnight". It is now long past that time and Saddam is still there. To compensate yesterday we blew up a statue of Saddam in Basra. A statue! It is not the statue that terrifies local people but the man himself and they know Saddam is still in control of Baghdad. Having marched us up this cul-de-sac, Donald Rumsfeld has now come up with a new tactic. Instead of going into Baghdad we should sit down outside it until Saddam surrenders. There is no more brutal form of warfare than a siege. People go hungry. The water and power to provide the sinews of a city snap. Children die. You can catch a glimpse of what would happen in Baghdad under siege by looking at Basra. Its residents have endured several days of summer heat without water. In desperation they have been drinking water from the river into which the sewage empties. Those conditions are ripe for cholera. Last week President Bush promised that "Iraqis will see the great compassion of the US". They certainly do not see it now. They don't see it in Baghdad. What they see are women and children killed when missiles fall on market places. They don't see it in Basra. What they see is the suffering of their families with no water, precious little food, and no power to cook. There will be a long-term legacy of hatred for the West if the Iraqi people continue to suffer from the effects of the war we started. Washington got it wrong over the ease with which the war could be won. Washington could be just as wrong about the difficulty of running Iraq when the fighting stops. Already there are real differences between Britain and America over how to run post-war Iraq. The dispute over the management of the port of Umm Qasr is a good example. British officers sensibly took the view that the best and the most popular solution would be to find local Iraqis who knew how to do it. Instead the US have appointed an American company to take over the Iraqi asset. And guess what? Stevedore Services of America who got the contract have a chairman known for his donations to the Republican Party. The argument between Blair and Bush over whether the UN will be in charge of the reconstruction of Iraq is about more than international legitimacy. It is about whether the Iraqi people can have confidence that their country is being run for the benefit of themselves or for the benefit of the US. Yesterday there was a sad and moving ceremony as the bodies of our brave soldiers were brought back to Britain. The Ministry of Defence announced that they were to be buried in Britain out of consideration for their families. We must do all we can to ease the grief of those who have lost a husband or a son, cut down in their prime. Yet I can't help asking myself if there was not a better way to show consideration for their families. A better way could have been not to start a war which was never necessary and is turning out to be badly planned.

Two U.S. Soldiers Survive Week in Desert

NORTHERN KUWAIT (AP) - excerpt: "They gave away much of their food to Iraqis. They drew ``SOS'' in the sand. One of them passed the time writing poems to his wife back home. For a week, two American soldiers were stranded in the Iraqi desert. They survived - hungry, thirsty and tired, but eager to get back to their unit and back to the war. In a dispatch Sunday from a reporter embedded with the Army's 75th Exploitation Task Force, The New York Times Web site reported the story of Specialist Jeffrey Klein, 20, of Independence, Ky., and Sgt. Matthew Koppi, 22, of Asheville, N.C., both mechanics with the Army's Third Infantry Division. The Pentagon told The Associated Press on Sunday it had no information about the two. The soldiers said they were stranded when their truck's clutch failed on the way to tow an officer's Humvee that had broken down as the division was traveling toward Baghdad. They said a staff sergeant had ordered them to wait, and said they would be picked up. No one did. So the two dug trenches to defend their position, and took turns on watch..."

I think France has the right to disagree with the US and it's silly the way the masses are so brainwashed that when the media says jump, some ask "how high?" ... as the saying goes. Anyhow, in the spirit of humor, this is funny:

BILDERBERG TO MEET IN VERSAILLES

The world's financial and political elite plan to hold their annual secret meeting at a posh French resort near the Palace of Versailles. Bilderberg will hold its annual secret meeting at the luxurious Trianon Palace Hotel in Versailles, France May 15-18. The meeting dovetails with the Group of Seven meeting of finance ministers in Paris the day after Bilderberg concludes, on May 19 in Paris. Paris is only a 20-minute drive from Versailles. International financiers and political leaders from Europe and North America will be conducting public business behind closed doors at the palatial resort. Banker David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger and high officials of the government and congressional leaders will participate, all pledging absolute secrecy. Members of the Rothschild family from Europe and Britain will attend, along with high government officials. Jim Hoagland will attend for the Washington Post and keep his pledge of secrecy. Publisher Donald Graham normally attends although he missed last year's session in Chantilly, Va. The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal and NBC, CBS and ABC have also been represented at Bilderberg meetings, binding themselves to a promise of secrecy. Taxpayers will pay the travel cost for U.S. officials and lawmakers. It is against federal law for administration officials to hold secret meetings with non-officials to plan public policy. American officials will again ignore this law. Central to the agenda will be planning post-war Iraq. France and Germany had extensive business relationships with pre-war Iraq and opposed the U.S. invasion. But what to do with Iraq's oil will be debated

THE INCOMPETENCE AT "CHICKENHAWK INTELLIGENCE AGENCY"

A Leo Strauss gang of Nietzchean fascists has been uncovered at Donald Rumsfeld's Pentagon, and they are at the center of concocting the bogus intelligence which painted the Iraq war as a "cakewalk", and which has been used, along with outright fabrications and forgeries, to bamboozle the U.S. Congress into voting for an imperial, preemptive, possibly nuclear war against Iraq.

These criminal elements also deliberately misled the President, and rammed through the insane military plan that is now in play. They must all go the way of the Defense Policy Board's Richard Perle. From approximately mid-2002, until February 2003, the man who ran the "nuts and bolts" of the secret intelligence unit in the Pentagon -- the "Chickenhawk Intelligence Agency" -- was one Abram Shulsky, a prominent follower of Leo Strauss. All of the most spectacular Iraq war disinformation over the recent period can be traced back to this Shulsky group, including:
* the September 2002 Bush and Blair simultaneous "white papers";
* the September 24, 2002 forgery, given to the U.S. Congress, on supposed Iraqi acquisition of nuclear technology and uranium;
* the October to December 2002 hoked-up stories about Iraqi connections to Al Qaeda;
* the February 5, 2002 pitiful briefing given by Colin Powell to the United Nations, and its companion piece, the "made in Israel" plagiarized paper put out by British Prime Minister Tony Blair, later shown to have been stolen from the neo-cons' own Barry Rubin.

What were Shulsky's credentials, to be entrusted with the "Chickenhawk Intelligence Agency" factory of lies? In 1999, a little-known book called {Leo Strauss, the Straussians, and the American Regime} was published by Rowman and Littlefield, which included, among its 29 essays, a piece on how Strauss' "enterprise" shaped a new form of "intelligence gathering," written by Abram Shulsky and Gary Schmitt. The essay was later published as a book under the title {Silent Warfare: Understanding the World of Intelligence}, which was intended to "revolutionize" intelligence gathering and analysis. From 1998 to August 2001, a Straussian "slow reading" group on Thucydides (a Strauss favorite) ran on the Internet, featuring Shulsky in a major role, lecturing the Straussian networks on "just war", "Spartan justice", Alcibiades and similar subjects. The patron of that particular project, one Lancelot Fletcher, also runs similar "groups" on Plato, Machiavelli and others. On Aug. 19, 2001, Fletcher wrote: "I am very pleased to announce the creation of a new Machiavelli group.... Actually I had created this list long ago, but thanks to the initiative of Michael Anton, one of the members of my leo-strauss group, I am now putting the Machiavelli group into operation for the first time. Michael Anton will serve as the discussion leader.... Michael Anton works for the U.S. government in the field of security and foreign affairs. He has studied with Harry Jaffa" -- one of the leading Straussians in the U.S. today.

And so, the degraded Richard Perle is just one of a whole nest of operatives, many of them Straussian philosophical fascists, who are up to their necks in Iraq war profiteering, conflict of interest, and empire plans. Among the most relevant are:
* {Abram Shulsky}: As noted, a leading Straussian who was the informal head of the Rumsfeld/Feith/Wolfowitz intelligence unit at the Pentagon that "cooked" the Iraq intelligence, until that unit was given full status with the appointment of Steve Cambone in February 2003. Shulsky's specialty was linking Iraq and Al Qaeda.
* {Dick Cheney}: The Vice President's Halliburton problems, including the involvement of his daughter, Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs, Elizabeth Cheney, have already been identified by investigative reporters.
* {Donald Rumsfeld}: The Secretary of Defense is the current public face on the Big Lie.
* {Paul Wolfowitz}: The #2 man in the Department of Defense, who oversaw the creation of the so-called "Chickenhawk Intelligence Agency," was a leading student of Strauss-protege Allen Bloom.
* {Doug Feith}: Assistant Secretary of Defense for Policy, Feith oversees the Defense Policy Board and the network of lower
level Secretaries that belong to the Wolfowitz cabal.
* {Peter Rodman}: Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Securiety Affairs, he reports to Feith.
* {Dr. William J. Luti}: Deputy Undersecretary of Defense, he reports to Rodman.
* {Dr. Steve Cambone}: Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, he heads the now official -- for the first time ever -- Pentagon intelligence agency, and reports to Feith.
* {Gerald Paul Hillman}: A member of the Defense Policy Board, and on the board of Perle's Trireme company.
* {Henry Kissinger}: Als a member of the Defense Policy Board, and on the board of Perle's Trireme company.
* {Andrew Marshall}: For several decades, head of the Office of Net Assessments. Marshall has been at the center of "get LaRouche" operations, and of Israeli espionage circles, having employed the notorious ADL operative Myra Lansky Boland to go after LaRouche at the same time as Boland's former classmate, Jonathon Jay Pollard, was being protected and deployed by the ADL.
* {Harold Rhodes}: Works for Marshall in the same Office of Net Assessments.

Of these, Shulsky, Wolfowitz, Feith, Rodman, Luti and Cambone are also linked to one or more of the projects that EIR has identified as the three major policy documents that created the heart of the "Empire" policy:
1) the 1992 Defense Policy Guidance, produced by then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney;
2) the 1996 "Clean Break" document prepared for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu;
3) the 2000 paper for the Project for a New American Century, called "Rebuilding American Defenses... For a New Century."

Furthermore, it is very good news that U.S. Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) has followed up his initiative to investigate Richard Perle's conflict of interest through the DoD Inspector General, by noting that Perle's resignation as Chairman of the Defense Policy Board does not erase the potential conflict. Perle is still on the DPB, and he already received the money for his services. What did he provide in return?

Update on war from Russian site

Excerpt: A report was obtained, prepared by the Al-Kuwait-based [coalition] Psychological Operations Tactical Group for the [coalition] Special Ground Forces Command. The report analyzed the effectiveness of the information and propaganda war. According to the report, analysis of the television broadcasts, intercepted radio communications, interrogations of Iraqi POWs show that psychologically the Iraqis are now "more stable and confident" that they were during the last days before the war. This, according to the report, is due primarily to the coalition's numerous military failures. "...Following nervousness and depression [of the Iraqis] during the first days of the war we can now observe a burst of patriotic and nationalistic feelings. ...There has been a sharp increase in the number of Iraqi refugees, who left the country before the war, returning to Iraq. A "cult of war" against the US and the UK is now emerging among the Iraqis...", the report states.

Perle Already Starts Lobbying For US Arch Enemy China

By Jim Lobe, Asia Times, 3-29-03, WASHINGTON -- "Is civil war about to break out among the neo-conservatives who have championed the imperial trajectory of the Bush administration's foreign policy? It's still too early to tell, but analysts are raising eyebrows over news that Richard Perle, the single most powerful hawk outside the administration, has been retained by Global Crossing to help ensure that Hutchison Whampoa, widely regarded by his fellow hawks as a front for China's People's Liberation Army, can buy a majority share in the bankrupt telecommunications company ... Both the Defense Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have raised some "national security" problems with the deal because it would put Global Crossing's global fiber- optics network, which is used by the Pentagon itself, under Hutchison Whampoa's control ... What is particularly remarkable - not to say mind-boggling - is that one of Perle's closest neo-conservatives proteges, soulmates and veteran collaborators, Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), has been screaming about the dangers posed by the Hong Kong-based company to US national security ever since Panama awarded it a 25-year renewable contract to lease and operate the ports at both ends of the Panama Canal Zone in 1997... America in the vice

Lives and careers are on the line in Iraq, The Guardian "A vice is slowly beginning to close on US and British political leaders who ordered or justified the launching of war on Iraq. This potentially fatal squeeze is the product of two opposed dynamics. One is the dawning realisation that the war will not be over quickly, may indeed drag on for months, and will certainly not be the "cakewalk" predicted by Kenneth Adelman of the Pentagon's infamous defence policy board. The other is the prospect of an accelerating humanitarian crisis..."

Mainstream Medias Sanitized War Coverage Helps Mask Carnage

US Casulaties Being Vastly Underreported, EXCERPT: "An unspoken rule, according to USA Today, is that "negative stories" are "viewed as unpatriotic." This direct and indirect censorship has resulted in Americans receiving a "sanitized" view of the war, despite "vivid footage" from the front lines. The difference in how the war is covered is readily apparent from the disturbing images published by European and Asian news networks"but censored by the U.S. media ... On the same day that Bild carried the "Bloody slaughter" headline with photos of injured, captured, and killed U.S. soldiers and Iraqi civilians, the lead story on USA Today's on-line news page was about the blooming of Washington's cherry blossoms. "The Arab world sees pictures of bloodied bodies of young children. They watch scenes crowded with corpses, including gruesome images of dead American soldiers. Americans see almost none of that," The Boston Globe reported on March 26. "Friends from Syria are sending e-mails to me, asking what are the people in the U.S. telling you about the images of civilian casualties," said Imad Moustapha, chief of public diplomacy at the Syrian Embassy in Washington. "My answer to them is very simple and sad: 'Sorry, no one is seeing those images here.' " ... 'But this emphasis on war game imagery is not serving Americans well,' Marian Wilkenson, Washington correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald wrote. "Outside the U.S., pictures from al Jazeera of injured Iraqis, burnt children and crying mothers are being transmitted throughout the Arab world and much of Europe. If the conflict intensifies, this will increase. And Americans will have little idea why the war is instilling such antagonism in the Arab world." ..." Freedom of the press, what a radical idea!

Kuwait missle attack said to be American

New York Times. EXCERPT: "An explosion rocked an empty shopping mall on the waterfront early today in Kuwait City, the capital, sending a huge plume of white smoke towering into the sky ... Some Kuwaiti officials who examined the fragments said they believed an errant American cruise missile had been fired from the Persian Gulf toward Iraq. "It was an American cruise missile, we know from the markings and writing on it," said a Kuwaiti police colonel who did not give his name. "It doesn't go up, it comes in low from the sea, and that's why there was no alert." Another uniformed Kuwaiti official said that he, too, believed the missile to have been American and said that it "came from the sea." He then added that "it was a mistake" that it had struck Kuwait. The Associated Press reported that unidentified American officials in Washington said the missile appeared to have been a Chinese-built Silkworm launched from southern Iraq ..." article

TIME WARP

Wonderful essay by SAM SMITH: I was 34 when the draft ended. In the preceding years my own views had shifted from those of a cold war liberal to those of an ambivalent apathetic and finally to those of a situational pacifist. But whatever my personal beliefs, I was deeply and constantly conscious of the inevitability of the military's involvement in, and power over, my life ... I have had this feeling in recent months, as though - totally unexpected and unprepared - I had been tossed back into a Jurassic ecology surrounded by violent creatures I believed gone except in memory and that my sons would only have to confront in books and on film. This is frightening, it is surprising, it is unpredictable. But history moves in both directions and America may well have run out of progress. Yet even in the barbaric awfulness cabled into our homes there is reason for hope - if the protests are truly what they seem: not merely a complaint about policy but the rising of a new definition of decency, calling not just for the end of a war but for an abolition of our deepest assumptions about the inevitability of war ..."

RUMSFELD DOCTRINE ON THE ROPES

GUARDIAN - With additional troops not likely to be in position before the middle of April, the Financial Times and the Daily Telegraph report on a potential switch of tactics. The FT says that the coalition are still debating whether to head for the capital, Baghdad, or stay where they are for up to a month."So concerned are senior commanders that "Baghdad Lite" has failed," writes the Telegraph, "that they are even considering pausing and repeating the seven-week air campaign that preceded the 1991 Gulf war."The political fallout from these developments appears to be raining on one man, Donald Rumsfeld. While George Bush addressed the press at Camp David yesterday with a smile on his face (Andrew Grice in the Independent says the president reminded him of "a game show host rather than the commander-in-chief of a massive army in the Gulf"), Mr Rumsfeld's nerves are said to be showing."How does anyone outside government know what my views are?" the Independent reports Mr Rumsfeld as snapping, describing the "visible lines of strain" on the US secretary of defense's face. The Times reports that the Rumsfeld doctrine, of attacking Iraq quickly and with a minimal force, has proven invalid, scuppered by the fierce resistance of Iraqi troops in places such as Basra. The paper says that intelligence analysts had warned to expect such fighting, but the Pentagon ignored their concerns, preferring to heed advice that "seriously underestimated what to expect", according to one Whitehall source, who also said the US relied too heavily on "radio intercepts and satellite photography".

ISRAELIS FEAR BLAIR'S INFLUENCE OVER BUSH: THOUGHT SHARON WAS IN CHARGE

CHRIS MCGREAL, GUARDIAN - Israel protested to Tony Blair yesterday at what it called his "worrying and outrageous" comments linking the war in Iraq to a settlement of the Palestinian conflict, and at Jack Straw's accusations of western double standards over the enforcement of UN resolutions on Israel. But the vehemence and timing of the protest, as the British prime minister met President George Bush to discuss the war and reaffirm their commitment to the "road map" to Middle East peace, reflected a growing Israeli fear that Mr Blair now exercises more influence than Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, over White House policy on the Jewish state ...

BBC CHIEFS PUZZLE OVER IRAQI WAR LIES

CIAR BYRNE, GUARDIAN - BBC news chiefs have met to discuss the increasing problem of misinformation coming out of Iraq as staff concern grows at the series of premature claims and counter claims by military sources ... "We're absolutely sick and tired of putting things out and finding they're not true. The misinformation in this war is far and away worse than any conflict I've covered, including the first Gulf war and Kosovo," said a senior BBC news source. "On Saturday we were told they'd taken Basra and Nassiriya and then subsequently found out neither were true. We're getting more truth out of Baghdad than the Pentagon at the moment. Not because Baghdad is putting out pure and morally correct information but because they're less savvy about it, I think."

Helpful Defendants

AMARILLO GLOBE NEWS - A pair of helpful defendants lent District Attorney Bruce Roberson an unexpected hand, or actually a show of hands, last month during their trial for aggravated assault and robbery at district court in Perryton. The female victim was tearfully testifying that she had been beaten and robbed by two men.The district attorney listened intently. "And are the two perpetrators of this terrible crime present in the courtroom today?" Roberson asked. Both defendants immediately raised their hands. "Here, your honor."

Critical Supplies...Are Unaccounted For

Business Week Online, By Frederik Balfour, EXCERPT: "Weather, enemy harassment, intermittent communications -- all had conspired to slow our advance over the previous few days. We were supposed to roll through southern Iraq with minimal resistance, barreling up Highway 8, the principal route north. But because of overoptimism, lousy intelligence, or both, that assumption proved wrong. Unexpectedly fierce fighting raged in the cities of Basra, al-Nasiriya, and al-Samawa -- places where U.S. commanders had brashly predicted mass surrenders. Things began falling apart within half a day of crossing the Iraq-Kuwait border. Because the Army wasn't able to secure the highway, nearly 10,000 vehicles were forced to share secondary routes that were decidedly infantry-unfriendly. Tanks, flatbed trucks, Humvees, and rocket launchers snaked their way bumper to bumper through the desert in near-zero visibility. In no time, the route was littered with 45-foot trailers stuck in the sand, and the carefully orchestrated departure had deteriorated into chaos. EXHAUSTION. By the time we made it to the temporary camp, some 160 km south of Baghdad, nearly a third of the trucks in our convoy had fallen at least 12 hours behind and couldn't be contacted. Amid the mounting chaos, communications suffered; a major told me that 60 fuel tankers sat in al-Nasiriya for two days because no one issued the order to move forward. ..." Read rest of story.

Perle, Adviser to U.S., Aided Maker of Satellites

By STEPHEN LABATON, WASHINGTON, March 28, While he led an influential Pentagon advisory board, Richard N. Perle advised a major American satellite maker, Loral Space and Communications, as it faced government accusations that it improperly transferred rocket technology to China, administration officials said today. Officials at the State Department said that the senior official considering how to resolve the rocket matter, Assistant Secretary Lincoln P. Bloomfield Jr., was contacted by Mr. Perle once or twice in the second half of 2001 on behalf of the company. At the time, Mr. Bloomfield, who heads the State Department's bureau of political-military affairs, and other officials were investigating accusations that Loral turned over expertise that significantly improved the reliability of China's nuclear missiles.

Loral passed technology to China to improve missile systems. The U.S. Customs Service announced January 10 that its four-year probe of Space System/Loral has resulted in that company paying a $20 million fine. The Customs Service charged Loral with violating the Arms Export Control Act, which governs the transfer of sensitive U.S. technology to foreign governments, by turning over technology to China that allowed it to improve the guidance systems for its missiles, according to a news release from the U.S. Customs Service on its probe of the satellite manufacturer.

Notes: "Perle's career started back in the 1970s, when he was a staffer on Sen. Henry Jackson's Permanent Investigations Subcommittee, and began promoting Bernard Lewis and his Clash of Civilizations. Already at that time, he had a reputation as a conduit of information to the Israelis, and a 1970 FBI wiretap overheard Perle discussing classified information with someone at the Israeli Embassy. He went on from there to be Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Reagan Administration, where he came close to being prosecuted for the passing of classified documents to the Israelis. Perle was a prime suspect for being part of the X Committee which collaborated with Jonathan Pollard, and he continued to play a role for the Jabotinskyites after leaving government, including being part of the producers of the "Clean Break" document in 1996. As head of Rumsfeld's Defense Policy Board, he played a major role in bashing the resistance to the war in the uniformed military, and brought in that incompetent Laurent Murawiec, to push the Clean Break line. Perle, Rumsfeld's leading advisor, was reported, back on August 1, 2002, to have chaired a July 10 Defense Policy Board meeting where the members ranted about the uniformed military opposition to the war, and insisted that "heads would have to roll" among the military brass, to break that resistance. But, look for the Chickenhawks to make new insane moves. They are going "ape-shit," and will begin to lash out at the military who are in increasingly open revolt against Rumsfeld. "

Corporate execs deliver body parts to Beijing , Jewish World Review reports, "TREASON IS A CHARGE not to be made lightly. But how else would you describe revelations in The New York Times last week concerning the transfer of missile technology to China? Loral Space and Communications, and Hughes Electronics are among the many American corporations that are none too scrupulous in their dealings with the most loathsome regime on earth. Loral has been using the Chinese to launch its communications satellites. In February 1996, one of these launches crashed. To avert a similar disaster, scientists from the Loral and Hughes studied the problem. Then, according to a Pentagon report, in violation of U.S. law, the team shared its findings with the People's Republic. The Times noted that this data gave the Chinese "critical assistance in improving the guidance systems of their rockets. The technology needed to put a commercial satellite in orbit is similar to that which guides a long-range nuclear missile to its target." Like the missiles a Chinese general threatened to lob at Los Angeles during the 1996 Taiwan crisis? Based on the Pentagon report, the Justice department started a criminal investigation. A grand jury was impaneled to consider indictments. Then, two month ago (in a move strongly opposed by Justice), the president foreclosed the possibility of prosecution by authorizing Loral to export similar technology to China. Not coincidentally, Loral's CEO, Bernard Schwartz, gave $421,000 to the Democratic Party last year. Like our aerospace industry, Bill Clinton has been profitably engaged in the China trade. In 1996, Little Rock restaurateur Charlie Trie funneled more than $1 million to the Clinton campaign from a group of Macao casino owners with ties to the People's Liberation Army. Beijing bagmen, including Johnny Chung and John Huang, swarmed all over the White House. In return, the administration has approved an astounding array of exports to the People's Republic, including, says the Center for Security Policy, "machine tools used to manufacture advanced military aircraft, jet engines suitable for use in fighter aircraft and cruise missiles ... and 46 supercomputers that have wound up in the Chinese military-industrial complex." The Oval Office stud-muffin personally lobbied Long Beach, Calif., officials to lease a vacant naval base to the Chinese Overseas Shipping Company, which ships guns and drugs overseas, among other cargo. Which of these running dogs, the president or corporate America, is the top dog in the pandering game is debatable. Companies like Boeing have moved large parts of their assembly line to the Middle Kingdom. It's common knowledge that the price of doing business in China is massive technology transfers. When Boeing president Philip Condit was asked how his company's business with Beijing would affect its role as a key American defense contractor, he indifferently replied that "the U.S. government will have to find ways of dealing with that." That they are rushing to build a nation and a military that may be killing Americans early in the next century concerns the China traders not in the least. You don't need a cornea transplant to see it coming. The PRC isn't deploying advanced intercontinental-range ballistic missiles to defend itself from Tibet. It isn't acquiring long-range aircraft and a blue-water navy to deal with internal dissent. America and China, the last two superpowers, are on an end-of-the-century collision course. China's communist rulers view us as the only serious obstacle to the attainment of their goals. Their territorial ambitions aren't limited to Taiwan. At the very least, they intend to render the United States incapable to exercising influence in Asia. Beijing's Long March to Asian hegemony is sponsored by corporate America. China's trade surplus with the United States ($157 billion between 1991 and 1997) makes its military expansion possible. When it comes to sensitive dual-use technology in the possession of U.S. firms, whatever China wants, China gets. That corporate executives are willing to put profits before patriotism is understandable, if deplorable. That the president of the United States is equally indifferent to national security concerns is execrable.

Understandable? When did treason against your country by anyone become "understandable"? It is NOT a political issue, this sellout of our nation is happening no matter what party is in power ... the actors may change (sometimes), but not the script. The BIG question is, what are they setting us up for? When Pat Buchanan asked, "Whose war is this: Perle's or Powell's?" ... I think someone made the wrong choice.

Absence of North Korean Leader and 61 Commanding Military Sparks Fears of Imminent War, By Kim In-gu, 3-28-3

War Is A Racket

Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933 by: Major General Smedley Butler, former Commandant USMC

War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.

I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6% over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100%. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.

It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty-three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscleman for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I suspected I was part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909 - 1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interest in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.

US Marines ditch their unlucky Charms

As a rule United States marines like their candy, but like any rule there are exceptions and the multi-fruit flavoured assorted Charms is definitely out. According to frontline troops nearing Baghdad a marine superstition has followed the lemon, lime and raspberry coated lollies longer than anyone cares to remember. Sergeant Kenneth Wilson said chew on a lemon Charm and you're heading for a vehicle breakdown. Suck on a lime and it rains. Raspberry - for the highly superstitious - means death. As Wilson points out, the marines have endured all three in recent days as troops encounter fierce resistance from the opposition forces of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, atrocious weather and vehicle accident. One accident early on Thursday left eight marines injured. And the deserts across southern Iraq are now strewn with discarded and unopened packets of Charms that are part of the ready-to-eat lunch pack provided marines. "I always throw mine away," said Wilson. "Everytime I eat the wrong colour something bad happens." Corporal Cameron Gingras and many others like him agree with Wilson, though they admit the unlucky lollie does taste good. "Always, always - I throw mine out," said Gingras. "They're bad luck and maybe too many people have been eating them, given what's happened this week." But then there's Sergeant Andre Guay who hopes the superstitions are true. Guay is a frontline marine with reconassaince. "I always eat 'em. I want to get into a firefight," he said with a grin. - Sapa-AFP

HOW DO WE PAY FOR THIS WAR?

It's quite simple, gentle reader, for as Il Dubya says, we need only concern ourselves with necessary expenditures. Demonstrating our support for our president, we present a proposed budget revision to pay for the first $75 billion it will cost in the first month to liberate Iraq's pipelines for Donald Rumsfeld's friends:

- Cut all money spent on international affairs, general science, space, technology, natural resources, and the Amtrak bailout. We'll still have to find $4 billion somewhere else. Or:
- Cut all money spent on agriculture, commerce, housing, and 96% of the money we spend on transportation. Or:
- Cut 93% of the money spent on education, training, employment, and social services. Or:
- Cut health programs by one-third. Or:
- Cut Medicare expenditures by one third. Or:
- Cut Social Security expenditures by 16%. Or:
- Cut all veterans' benefits and half of the justice system. Or:
- Don't pay 43% of the interest on the debt this year.

MISSPELLING THE COALITION OF THE WILLING

AL KAMEN, WASH POST - This just in from Ljubljana! Hundreds of Slovenians hit the streets Wednesday to protest their country's inclusion in President Bush's $75 billion Iraq war budget as a partner in the war against Iraq. The White House asked for $4.5 million for Slovenia as part of the grants to members of the vast "coalition of the willing." Small problem: The lovely Alpine nation isn't a member. "When we asked for an explanation, the State Department told us we were named in the document by mistake," Prime Minister Anton Rop said at what Reuters called "a hastily arranged news conference." This of course would not be the first time someone confused Slovenia and Slovakia, which is a willing member of the coalition of the willing. Bush, asked during the presidential campaign about Slovakia, said, "The only thing I know about Slovakia is what I learned firsthand from your foreign minister, who came to Texas. I had a great meeting with him. It's an exciting country. It's a country that's doing very well." Turns out it was the prime minister of Slovenia. Rop said yesterday, "We are a part of no such coalition. We are a part of a coalition for peace." Not so fast, Anton. The prime minister is quite mistaken if he thinks he can get out of the coalition so easily. After all, the Solomon Islands wanted out but continue to be listed as a member. And Angola (isn't it run by the commies Washington spent decades trying to defeat?) was in, then briefly out, but then back in again.

Predictions for Planet Earth and Its Inhabitants

Found on the internet... Well, the future sounds pretty bleak according to this. The only good news that I can see here is that the present situation in the Middle East doesn't qualify as WWIII (yet).

(1.) Physical Earth Changes.
1. Due to the combination of galactic forces and the pollution of the Earth by humans, which is intensifying and speeding up the process, massive worldwide Earth changes will take place. The galactic cosmic forces, which are connected to the arrival of the Aquarian Age, are causing the natural recycling of the Earth's four major surface types, which are desert, ocean floor, fertile land, and ice covered land. This is a natural cycle created into the physical destiny of planet Earth to insure that no area of its surface is permanently destroyed. For example, if what is now desert was to remain desert for an extremely long time, then that area of the Earth's surface would be forever infertile, therefore it must be covered with water which replenishes it. Since planet Earth was created as a home for humans, it must have sufficient amounts of fertile land to grow food. You cannot easily grow food, if at all, on deserts, frozen tundra or ocean floors. The recycling proceeds like this; the deserts become ocean floors, the ocean floors rise up above the water to dry and become fertile land, the ice melts off the ice covered land and that land dries and becomes fertile, some of present day fertile lands becomes deserts and some are covered by ice to preserve them for future use. This recycling has occurred many times in the Earth's history. This is the process; due to stellar, solar, solar system, lunar spiritual energy forces and electromagnetic forces, the Earth's magnetic poles will shift position and the magma around the core of the Earth will be drawn and forced to the surface. This is similar to the magnetic powers of a magnet and is observed in the movement of the ocean tides by the Moon. As the magma is forced to the surface it causes the tectonic plates which float on this liquid to move in very quick movements. This causes the melting of the North and South Pole ice caps, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tidal waves of gigantic proportions. Scientists do not understand any of this because these types of Earth changes have not occurred in recent history. Though they do have some evidence of similar activity in the past when they find seashells in the high deserts hundreds of miles from any ocean and animal and plant fossils in the frozen tundra.
2. The eruption of Mt. St. Helen in the state of Washington , USA , on May 18, 1980 was the sign that many heavy earthquakes will occur in the San Francisco area until that city is totally destroyed by a very large quake. The eruption of the St. Helen volcano was and is connected to the fracturing of the San Andreas Fault that runs through San Francisco . The destruction of that city is the beginning of the end of the West Coast of the USA , which will be destroyed by heavy earthquakes and flooding. After this, earthquakes will be both more numerous and of larger magnitudes around the world.
3. California and the rest of the West Coast of the United States will be hit with two gigantic quakes. After the eruptions of the volcanoes Etna in Sicily, Vesuvius in Italy and Pelee in Martinique, West Indies, within four months, earthquakes with a magnitude of approximately 14.0 - 15.0 will inundate the West Coast area from Baja, California to Denver, Colorado and from Denver to Anchorage, Alaska. Every city, town and village will be destroyed and very little land will remain dry. Mountain ranges will be leveled, deserts will become ocean floors.
4. Great earthquakes caused by tectonic plate movements will occur around the world after the West Coast, U.S.A. quakes. With these huge quakes will come gigantic tsunamis that will destroy by flood many cities, towns and villages along the coastlines of many countries in the world.
5. Huge devastating wild fires, tremendous floods, catastrophic volcanic eruptions, destructive earthquakes, and hurricanes and tornadoes with wind speeds of 150-200 mph will be seen all over the world causing great destruction each year for many years. Some years will have less, some more, but generally speaking these natural disasters will continue to increase. The increasing unusual number of these natural disasters is caused by the criminally insane pollution of our planet. Corporations, governments, evil scientists and to a great extent the apathetic public are responsible for this horrible destruction of our beautiful planet.
6. Besides Etna, Vesuvius and Pelee, volcanoes will erupt in many countries. So much volcanic ash will be shot into the air in those areas that the daytime skies will be darkened and the Sun will not be seen for weeks. The lava and ash from these eruptions will create great problems for the nearby regions.
7. Many areas in the world will be flooded due to huge amounts of rainfall. This great increase in rainfall will be due to the heating of the oceans by the combination of global warming caused by air pollution and the heat of the molten magma connected to volcanoes rising beneath the ocean floors.
8. The Mississippi River in the U.S.A. will flood and become in some spots 50 miles wide and at its mouth 100 miles wide, only in its northern sections will it be easily crossed.
(2.) The Economy of the World & the U.S.A.
1. Due to the major Earth changes and a world war there will be a worldwide economic collapse that will result in a so-called New World Order that will be worldwide feudalism with the few rich and powerful ruling over the many poor and homeless.
2. Governments will close Banks all over the world.
3. Oil prices and therefore gasoline prices will sky rocket and the value of money will be reduced to 10 cents on the dollar.
4. All over the world people will be starving and lining up for food and good drinking water will be hard to find.
5. The stock markets will crash and close mainly due to war and the fear of war.
(3.) USA and World Politics.
1. A United States president will be driven out of office by a political and military coup that will stun the world.
2. A new country will be established in what is today Jordan . Its government will be composed of Palestinians and Jordanians. This however, will not ease the tensions between the Arab nations and Israel .
3. Israel will become more isolated from the rest of the world because of its desire to hold on to Jerusalem .
4. Israel , along with its allies the U.S. and England , will prepare for war against many countries including most of the Arab countries, Russia and China .
5. The Israeli Prime Minister will be killed and within months a major war will break out in the Middle East .
6. This war will be fought primarily over the control and ownership of Jerusalem .
7. Russia will continue to get worse in every way. The Russian people will lose faith in their government, and the government will lose control over much of the Russian society. People will be starving to death in Russian cities and there will be riots to obtain food. Organized crime will grow as powerful as the government and operate freely in Russian cities.
8. China will secretly grow angry towards Russia because of conflicting communist ideologies. There will be border disputes and fighting between the Russian and Chinese military, but these will be minor conflicts and will not lead to a major war between the two countries. Yet this is very important because through this major disagreement these two super powers will go their separate ways towards world domination.
9. There will be two nuclear reactor accidents, one in Russia and one in France similar to the Chernobyl accident of 1986, which happened near the city of Kiev in Russia . These catastrophes will be so horrible that people all over the world will start to demand a cleaner environment, but this will not happen.
(4.) World War III.
1. Four heads of state will die within a week of each other, within two years of these deaths WWIII will start.
2. Also, the upper atmosphere of the Earth will be set on fire and everyone in the world will see this. It will be set on fire by the U.S. military using their H.A.A.R.P. (High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program) climate control weapon. This fire will be a bright red and last for one week. This will be claimed to have been an accident, but it will have been an intentional testing of the weapon. Within one year of this event WWIII will begin.
3. The situation in the Middle East , the war over the control of Jerusalem , will lead directly to WWIII.
4. Islamic fundamentalists will be responsible for civil wars, revolutions, wars between nations, and many major problems within their own countries and around the world, culminating in an attack upon the Israelis in Jerusalem using a small nuclear weapon.
5. Saddam Hussein, the Anti-Christ, will order a chemical and biological weapon attack in the United States . He will also secretly convince the Russians and the Red Chinese to enter WWIII against the United States and its Allies.
6. China will attack North Vietnam and this will put the Chinese on an inalterable course towards WWIII.
7. Pakistan will enter into an alliance with China and through this the Chinese will make their way through Pakistan , the Arabian Sea and the Middle East.
8. India will form an alliance with Russia opening the way to the Indian Ocean to the Russians, which will alarm the U.S. and complicate that region of the world immensely.
9. Iran will form an alliance with Russia allowing the Russians to eventually dominate the Middle East .
10. Europe will continue to be very complicated and disunited adding to the problems of the world.
11. Many know-it-all, intellectually arrogant, closed-minded, fearful and pompous people will claim that there is no danger of WWIII, but they do not know that this war will not start suddenly. It will start gradually, with one nation going to war with an other nation. One small war added to another small war until the sum is a world war.
12. The U.S.A. , NATO, and the United Nations will not be able to do anything to contain these wars. The United Nations especially is too weak. It was not organized with enough strength to stop these types of conflicts.
13. World War III will start in the month of November, approximately one year after the upper atmosphere is set on fire using the U.S. secret military weapon H.A.A.R.P., and will last 3 years and 11 months.
14. Conventional weapons will be used first, then chemical, biological and nuclear.
15. The Northern Hemisphere of the Earth will be mostly destroyed by nuclear fires and radiation. Most of the Southern Hemisphere will not be destroyed by nuclear weapons, but all of the cities, towns, and villages will be leveled and burned to the ground through conventional war.
16. Anyone caught within 50 miles of a hydrogen bomb detonation will suffer damage to their soul, even to the point of the total destruction of it, which would release their spirit in energy form back to God, and they would cease to exist as individual spirits. This is because the explosion of a hydrogen bomb causes a chain reaction explosion of all hydrogen atoms within range, which includes the hydrogen atoms that souls are partially composed of. Even though souls exist within the fourth dimension, the strength, power and velocity of the detonation will bridge the gap between third and fourth dimensions. The spirit without its soul cannot exist as an individual entity. If this separation were to occur, the spiritual energy that composed the spirit would return to God. A spirit cannot exist in a spiritual being without a soul; there is no such thing as a spiritual being without shape and form. Think of the spirit as a spark of pure God energy and the soul as a type of physical body similar to the physical bodies on Earth, but with a higher vibration. I'm sure this has cleared up any misunderstanding concerning this matter. Many of you have been taught that the soul is indestructible. This is incorrect. A hydrogen bomb is the one thing on Earth that can totally destroy the soul.
17. Human extraterrestrials, who have been monitoring the Earth for millions of years, will prevent the entire destruction of the planet, but will not otherwise interfere with WWIII because of Universal Non-Interference Laws.
18. Some people, very few, perhaps in the thousands, will survive WWIII in elaborate bomb shelters, remote mountainous areas and in a few areas of the Southern Hemisphere of the planet.
19. After WWIII begins there will be 11 years of radiation contamination in the Northern Hemisphere and lawlessness, starvation, and cannibalism throughout the world, and finally very few people will survive.
20. WWIII will not be the end of the human race nor the destruction of Planet Earth, but it will be the end of this present day civilization, with every city, town and village in the world completely burnt to the ground.

MADONNA VIDEO ENDS WITH IMAGE OF PRESIDENT BUSH WITH GRENADE IN HIS LAP

According to Drudge Report, "A final shock scene in the video of AOLTIMEWARNER recording artist Madonna's upcoming release -- is that of the singer throwing a grenade in the lap of President Bush! "It is not me being anti-Bush, it's me being ironic and tongue in cheek," Madonna explains to NBC's ACCESS HOLLYWOOD this weekend. "My kind of wish for peace and my desire to sort of turn a weapon of destruction, which is a grenade, into something that is completely innocuous." Madonna uses a Bush look-alike in the final scene of AMERICAN LIFE. Tthe "president" picks up the lit grenade that Madonna throws at him -- and lights his cigar with it! The image is "my wish to find an alternative to violence to war and destruction," the singer says. Last month the DRUDGE REPORT first revealed how Madonna was hoping to cause maximum controversy with the new video. AMERICAN LIFE will make its debut late next week." photo

Astronomy Picture of the Day

Nominated for most mysterious star in the Milky Way, V838 Monocerotis briefly became one of the brightest stars in our galaxy. Its outburst discovered in January 2002, observations have indicated that V838 Mon somehow transformed itself over a period of months from a small under-luminous star a little hotter than the Sun, to a highly-luminous, cool supergiant star -- defying the conventional understanding of erupting stars and stellar life cycles. In this spectacular image, one of a series recorded last year by the Hubble Space Telescope, the dimmed V838 Mon is surrounded by an "expanding" nebula. But the nebula is actually a series of light echoes from formerly unseen shells of dust up to light-years in diameter. Previously ejected, the intricate shells progressively reflect light as it reaches them from V838 Mon's outbursts. Astronomers anticipate that light echoes from farther out in the dust envelope will continue to be visible until about 2010. Some estimates now place V838 Mon about 20,000 light-years from planet Earth. photo

Gen. Joe Arpaio unveils his arsenal

The day before the press conference where he would show off his latest counter-terrorism gadgets, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio launched a pre-emptive strike against those in the media who might consider making light of his endeavor. In other words, me. "There will be some who will try to make a joke out of it," he told me Tuesday, "which is awful. Because to make a joke out of what my office is trying to do to protect people against terrorism is awful. It's not funny." And of course he's correct. There is nothing funny about the sheriff's attempt to protect county residents from terrorism. Except, maybe, the 50-caliber belt-fed machine gun for which he paid $12,000. That's a little funny."This piece of equipment is unique," Arpaio said in a press release announcing the purchase. "It's the ultimate machine gun. It's law enforcement's insurance policy. If any terrorist action comes to our attention, this weapon can counter it." Since terrorists tend not to announce their intentions beforehand, I wondered what type of action might come to the sheriff's attention ... Read the rest of the article.

TIME-TRAVELER BUSTED FOR INSIDER TRADING

NEW YORK -- Federal investigators have arrested an enigmatic Wall Street wiz on insider-trading charges -- and incredibly, he claims to be a time-traveler from the year 2256! Sources at the Security and Exchange Commission confirm that 44-year-old Andrew Carlssin offered the bizarre explanation for his uncanny success in the stock market after being led off in handcuffs on January 28. "We don't believe this guy's story -- he's either a lunatic or a pathological liar," says an SEC insider. "But the fact is, with an initial investment of only $800, in two weeks' time he had a portfolio valued at over $350 million. Every trade he made capitalized on unexpected business developments, which simply can't be pure luck. "The only way he could pull it off is with illegal inside information. He's going to sit in a jail cell on Rikers Island until he agrees to give up his sources." The past year of nose-diving stock prices has left most investors crying in their beer. So when Carlssin made a flurry of 126 high-risk trades and came out the winner every time, it raised the eyebrows of Wall Street watchdogs. "If a company's stock rose due to a merger or technological breakthrough that was supposed to be secret, Mr. Carlssin somehow knew about it in advance," says the SEC source close to the hush-hush, ongoing investigation. When investigators hauled Carlssin in for questioning, they got more than they bargained for: A mind-boggling four-hour confession. Carlssin declared that he had traveled back in time from over 200 years in the future, when it is common knowledge that our era experienced one of the worst stock plunges in history. Yet anyone armed with knowledge of the handful of stocks destined to go through the roof could make a fortune. "It was just too tempting to resist," Carlssin allegedly said in his videotaped confession. "I had planned to make it look natural, you know, lose a little here and there so it doesn't look too perfect. But I just got caught in the moment." In a bid for leniency, Carlssin has reportedly offered to divulge "historical facts" such as the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden and a cure for AIDS. All he wants is to be allowed to return to the future in his "time craft." However, he refuses to reveal the location of the machine or discuss how it works, supposedly out of fear the technology could "fall into the wrong hands." Officials are quite confident the "time-traveler's" claims are bogus. Yet the SEC source admits, "No one can find any record of any Andrew Carlssin existing anywhere before December 2002."

Well, the good news is that it doesn't appear that we're gonna blow the world up!

Awkward squad tries to sharpen view

They call themselves the "awkward squad" and their questions to the generals running the war in Iraq are starting to divide the sceptical press from their more loyal American colleagues. The front row of the briefing hall at the central command headquarters in the deserts of Qatar is largely reserved for the American television networks. But frequently the toughest questioning has come from rows further back where there are the less accepting British, Arab and Chinese press. After America took its heaviest losses in battle for years on Sunday, an Abu Dhabi television reporter asked General Tommy Franks, the US commander: "Are you practising a strategy of lies and deception or have you just been trapped by the Iraqi army?"

Today - A Day Of Shame - John Pilger

".. Yesterday, Blair said that 400,000 Iraqi children had died in the past five years from malnutrition and related causes. He said "huge stockpiles of humanitarian aid" and clean water awaited them in Kuwait, if only the Iraqi regime would allow safe passage. In fact, voluminous evidence, including that published by the United Nations Children's Fund, makes clear that the main reason these children have died is an enduring siege, a 12-year embargo driven by America and Britain. As of last July, $5.4 billion worth of humanitarian supplies, approved by the UN and paid for by the Iraqi government, were blocked by Washington, with the Blair government's approval. The former assistant secretary general of the UN, Denis Halliday, who was sent to Iraq to set up the "oil for food programme", described the effects of the embargo as "nothing less than genocide". Similar words have been used by his successor, Hans Von Sponeck. Both men resigned in protest, saying the embargo merely reinforced the power of Saddam. Both called Blair a liar."

Gulf States May Be Next: British MP

JEDDAH, 26 March 2003 — In an exclusive interview with Arab News yesterday, British Member of Parliament George Galloway said he had evidence that one motive for the war on Iraq is the eventual partition of the Mideast. “Here in the Houses of Parliament there are people who have never set foot in an Arab country openly discussing the partition of Gulf states,” he said in a telephone interview from London. “They talk about whether it should be one country, two countries, three countries, even four countries. They openly discuss changing the boundaries of old countries,
creating new countries — removing this and that leader,” he added.
Besides "history," the school system should have mandantory classes in political and business corruption and detail all the major players from the past fifty years to the present. Maybe through education, the rats will be exposed. Right, like that would ever happen. Does that give you a clue, my fellow Americans?

Falling out among thieves

America's carefully cultivated amnesia also covers the entire background history of the Bush rampage in Iraq. Few Homeland folks realize that the current "war of liberation" is nothing more than a falling out among thieves, old comrades in crime. For just like Osama and Daddy Bush's former punching bag, Panama's Manuel Noreiga, Saddam is a son of the CIA: He and his brutal Baathist Party were put in power by the American spy agency in 1963, as historian Roger Morris detailed last week in The New York Times. Operating from secret bases in Kuwait (where future CIA boss Daddy Bush was drilling for oil with his business partners, the Kuwaiti royals), the Agency directed Baathist rebels as they laid some "regime change" on an Iraqi strongman who'd gotten a bit too uppity for Washington's refined sensibilities. After seizing power, Saddam and his fellow CIA proxies launched a blood-Baath, systematically murdering hundreds of people from lists supplied by helpful American agents. Five years later, the CIA gave Saddam and his family another boost, helping their faction oust rivals in an internal power struggle. And still later, that future CIA boss would be the most lavish and fawning of Saddam's many American sugar daddies -- even after Hussein "gassed his own people." No, these dark forces -- these secret agencies, these corrupt political families, who gorge themselves on plunder and proxy murder -- have never been "liberators."

Latest war news

From overthrow.com, and if true, you can see why the US Media is CENSORED ...

Excerpt: "On the US side, US forces appear to have totally abandoned the ******* area to the British, and appear to have taken the British off of the advance; the British weren't doing too well offensively to start with. Elements of the 101st Airborne -- probably two brigades -- have been harassing and probing the Medina Division near *******. The US Third Infantry, which is exhausted and with questionable supplies, is currently near *******, has been ordered to secure ******* -- a city 150 times the size of Umm Qasr -- by this weekend, so they can advance along the East side of the nearby lake, through the town of ******* and capture the ******* River crossing at *******. The main problem with this is that the Iraqi 3rd Armored Division is in that area, and in making that advance, they are going to have their supply lines brought along a very, very narrow chokepoint between the built up area of ******* and the lake, and they are going to extend their overextended supply lines another 100 miles. That strategy makes it look like the suicidal idiots who thought up this terrible attack plan in the first place have decided to take their weaknesses and extend them, so as to make their position even more weak. In order to accomplish this, the United States has begun taking units that had been deployed to defend and garrison Kuwait and moved them North to garrison ******* and *******. Just as the US has already picked out civilian governors for a country it has not yet defeated, it is sending garrison troops for cities it does not yet control. And in doing so, it is essentially stripping away all the defenses it had in Kuwait City, so while the base of the vulnerable allied supply line was at least reasonably well defended, it will now be stripped of most of its defenses. Rather than consolidate their position, it seems the Allies are going to continue to attempt to extend and weaken it. This strategy has generals in a number of foreign nation, and Washingtons, sitting slackjawed in awe at how badly its going, and it believes that the civilian head of the Department of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, is the one pushing this against the objection of the US generals on the ground. Bush and Rumsfeld feel that this battle HAS to be won quickly, and the order to attack and capture these towns of 600,000 or more troops is said to have come directly from Bush himself -- Bush who grew up spoiled and has never had anything denied him before. The best way to think of it is this. There are only about 150,000 combat troops in the area, plus 100,000 support personnel of various types. The larger anti-war marches have been bigger than the US invasion force. Think about that ... and every day their supply trucks are having to drive the distance from DC to mid-New Jersey in order to bring food, water, fuel and ammunition to the troops. This situation is untenable, and it is going to collapse if someone doesn't stop the madmen who are driving it.

Flashback: Bush / Iraq / Rumsfeld / France / Aqaba Pipeline

After the "war", will the pipeline be built, contract to Bechtel, from Iraq to Aqaba, Jordan, and then to the GAZA strip, which will be part of the Palestinian land which will be given to Israel in the new "roadmap for peace"?

Shaking Hands: Iraqi President Saddam Hussein greets Donald Rumsfeld, then special envoy of President Ronald Reagan, in Baghdad on December 20, 1983 Rumsfeld was to discuss with Iraqi officials the Reagan administration's hope that it could obtain Export-Import Bank credits for Iraq, the Aqaba pipeline, and its vigorous efforts to cut off arms exports to Iran. According to an affidavit prepared by one of Rumsfeld's companions during his Mideast travels, former NSC staff member Howard Teicher, Rumsfeld also conveyed to Iraq an offer from Israel to provide assistance, which was rejected [Document 61]. -----
THE CASE OF IRAQ AND THE EXPORT-IMPORT BANK, Henry B. Gonzalez, (TX-20), (House of Representatives - February 24, 1992), Excerpts: "These questions need to be answered, and I think that the President of the United States needs to explain to the people of this country what he was doing prior to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, why he was so committed to this policy of trying to appease Saddam Hussein, and that is about the only word that I can think of to accurately describe this policy, and, if the gentleman recalls, even a few days prior to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait we had a vote here on the floor of the House to extend the export enhancement program to Iraq, and the administration's position just a few days prior to the invasion was we did not dare offend Saddam Hussein, for goodness sakes, and this was a man who was committing atrocities against the Kurds and his own people, and apparently the CIA had knowledge of this."

"Over the next 7 years the State Department and the White House would pressure the Eximbank repeatedly to gain access to guaranteed financing for Iraqi projects. The most prominent of these projects was an Iraqi oil pipeline with an outlet at the Red Sea Port of Aqaba, Jordan. This contract alone was worth $1 billion for its contractor, Bechtel, the California engineering conglomerate. Secretary of State George Shultz and Bechtel had a longstanding business relationship ... Other high officials in the Reagan administration involved in this project including President Bush, the current Deputy Secretary of State, Lawrence Eagleburger, former Attorney General Ed Meese, former NSC Director Robert McFarlane, and former CIA Director William Casey. At various times, every one of them contacted the Eximbank to obtain financing for the Aqaba pipeline project." "On June 19, 1984, the Eximbank's Board met and not surprisingly approved a preliminary commitment of $484 million for the Aqaba pipeline for Bechtel."

The Institute for Policy Studies: RUMSFELD IGNORED WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN PURSUIT OF OIL PIPELINE NEW REPORT DOCUMENTS HAWKS' EFFORTS ON BECHTEL'S BEHALF, Excerpt: "Crude Vision reveals how the White House, through the Department of State and the National Security Council, pressured the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) and U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) to approve financing for this deal. Reagan officials knew of numerous human rights violations by Saddam Hussein while they pursued US taxpayer support for the pipeline. And it notes that the break in US-Iraq relations occurred not after Iraq used chemical weapons on the Iranians, nor after Iraq gassed its own Kurdish people, nor even after Iraq invaded Kuwait, but rather, followed Saddam's rejection of the Aqaba pipeline deal." "Key figures associated with the Bush Administration, in particular Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, pressed Saddam Hussein during the mid '80's to approve the Aqaba pipeline project from Iraq to Jordan ... Behind the scenes, these officials worked for two years attempting to secure the billion dollar pipeline scheme for the Bechtel corporation. The Bush/Cheney administration now eyes Bechtel as a primary contractor for the rebuilding of Iraq's infrastructure. Bechtel's pipeline would have carried a million barrels of Iraqi crude oil a day through Jordan to the Red Sea port of Aqaba."

More about the Aqaba Pipeline -- Excerpts from article: In 1984, the Iraqi government was already negotiating the same project with an American company: BECHTEL. The main fear was then that Israel could any time attack and destroy the pipeline. (In 1981 Israel bombed and destroyed Iraq's nuclear power plant -- one of the pilots that bombed it was the Israeli astronaut killed in the recent Columbia Space Shuttle accident) But ten years later- in 1994- the same project became an asset in the hands of the Jordanian negotiators, who made of it a condition for signing a peace agreement with Israel. That's why King Hussein of Jordan discussed the subject in Washington in January 1994, then with Alain Juppé, French Foreign minister in Amman in February ... Negotiations, which started in 17 May 1992, needed a year and half to reach an agreement, signed in Baghdad by Taha Hammud (vice-Minister for oil) and the representatives of TOTAL-ELF. The agreement settled the issue, thus allowing the French to invest in the Iraqi fields, according to the notion of "production sharing" ... After the proclamation of the Oslo accords, the French tried to launch another ambitious project, concerning a pipeline linking Al-rumaila oil fields in southern Iraq to the Jordanian port of Aqaba, then to Gaza in the Palestinian self-rule area ... If the idea of linking Gaza to Rumaila met some difficulties, the Aqaba pipeline became soon the focus of numerous parties ... that would not be the only subject of disagreement between Paris and Washington concerning Iraq. The issue became so problematic that some observers could not help but notice that the struggle in the UN Security Council grew pregnant of French and American controversial reactions following the negotiations about oil production and exports and other trades with Iraq, such as the "airbus" deal won by the French at the expenses of "Boeing", or the 1994's contract signed also by the French aiming at settling 650.000 telephonic lines in Iraq, which would not be effective before the lifting of the embargo ... U.S. Ambassador Bolts Debate on Iraq War

UNITED NATIONS March 27 — "The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations walked out of a debate on the Iraqi war Thursday after Iraq's ambassador accused the United States of trying to exterminate the Iraqi people. "I did sit through quite a long part of what he had to say but I'd heard enough," U.S. Ambassador John Negroponte said. Iraq's U.N. envoy Mohammed Al-Douri charged that the United States had arranged for contracts to rebuild Iraq in 1997, six years before the U.S.-led war began last week..."

However Long It Takes

Anyone who doesn't question the possibility that "some in the US" may have planned all along to drag this war out in order to kill as many Iraqi "fighters" as possible to make the "occupation" easier, is in serious denial ... furthermore, did we arm both sides to make sure they would fight ... think about it ... there's evidence that "western powers" may have armed Iraq through "aid" to Yugoslavia. reference } Bush/Blair photo

Remember: Bush Planned Iraq War Before Taking Office

By Neil Mackay, The Sunday Herald - UK, A secret blueprint for US global domination reveals that President Bush and his cabinet were planning a premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' even before he took power in January 2001. The blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice- president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), George W Bush's younger brother Jeb and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The document, entitled Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century, was written in September 2000 by the neo-conservative think-tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC). The plan shows Bush's cabinet intended to take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power. It says: 'The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.' The PNAC document supports a 'blueprint for maintaining global US pre-eminence, precluding the rise of a great power rival, and shaping the international security order in line with American principles and interests'. This 'American grand strategy' must be advanced for 'as far into the future as possible', the report says. It also calls for the US to 'fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars' as a 'core mission'. The report describes American armed forces abroad as 'the cavalry on the new American frontier'. The PNAC blueprint supports an earlier document written by Wolfowitz and Libby that said the US must 'discourage advanced industrial nations from challenging our leadership or even aspiring to a larger regional or global role'. The PNAC report also: l refers to key allies such as the UK as 'the most effective and efficient means of exercising American global leadership'; l describes peace-keeping missions as 'demanding American political leadership rather than that of the United Nations'; l reveals worries in the administration that Europe could rival the USA; l says 'even should Saddam pass from the scene' bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain permanently -- despite domestic opposition in the Gulf regimes to the stationing of US troops -- as 'Iran may well prove as large a threat to US interests as Iraq has'; spotlights China for 'regime change' saying 'it is time to increase the presence of American forces in southeast Asia'. This, it says, may lead to 'American and allied power providing the spur to the process of democratisation in China'; calls for the creation of 'US Space Forces', to dominate space, and the total control of cyberspace to prevent 'enemies' using the internet against the US; hints that, despite threatening war against Iraq for developing weapons of mass destruction, the US may consider developing biological weapons -- which the nation has banned -- in decades to come. It says: 'New methods of attack -- electronic, 'non-lethal', biological -- will be more widely available ... combat likely will take place in new dimensions, in space, cyberspace, and perhaps the world of microbes ... advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target' specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool'; and pinpoints North Korea, Libya, Syria and Iran as dangerous regimes and says their existence justifies the creation of a 'world-wide command-and-control system'. Tam Dalyell, the Labour MP, father of the House of Commons and one of the leading rebel voices against war with Iraq, said: 'This is garbage from right-wing think-tanks stuffed with chicken-hawks -- men who have never seen the horror of war but are in love with the idea of war. Men like Cheney, who were draft-dodgers in the Vietnam war. 'This is a blueprint for US world domination -- a new world order of their making. These are the thought processes of fantasist Americans who want to control the world. I am appalled that a British Labour Prime Minister should have got into bed with a crew which has this moral standing.' First published 9-15-02 http://www.sundayherald.com/print27735
