A More Perfect Union: Advancing New American Rights, by Jesse L. Jackson, Jr., with Frank E. Watkins, Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr, sees "race as the lens through which to see all of American history." This book details Jackson's visionary response to the ongoing American struggle with overcoming its neo-Confederacy past and present. Largely ignored by the mainstream press and booksellers when it was published in the fall of 2001, Jackson lays out a vision for guaranteeing economic and social justice to all Americans. We interviewed Congressman Jackson in December of 2002 and believe that he is an important advocate for American rights. This is a book that should be read, not ignored.
